CrossFit Kids® & Teens

Crossfit Kids® and Crossfit Teens

CrossFit Kids was founded in 2004 by Jeff and Mikki Martin and is a method for teaching Greg Glassman’s CrossFit to children, ages 3-18. It is broad, inclusive general fitness program that helps shape lives over the long term. Through it your child will become faster and stronger, and discover real world skills all while having fun! Safety is our number one focus, so all exercises are scaled to be age appropriate. First class is FREE
Scientific studies have shown that children who associate exercise with fun from an early age will continue to do so for the rest of their lives. CrossFit Kids is not simply a scaled down version of CrossFit, but a program specifically designed for the specific developmental needs of each age group (neurological, cognitive, motor). CrossFit Kids is the principal strength and conditioning program for many young athletes and the primary P.E. program for many public schools, charter schools, and home schoolers. It is used by athletic teams, martial arts schools and many parents that want their kids to grow up healthy, strong and have a life long love of working out thus avoiding the common problems associated with childhood inactivity and obesity. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Healthy living requires that our kids push, pull, run, throw, climb, lift, jump, effectively and safely regardless of whether or not they play athletics. Athletics is a specialized pursuit. Our goal is to support the specialist, but reward the generalist. Our CrossFit Kids classes generally consist of 4 parts:
  1. A warm-up activity which is often an agility course or a game
  2. Skill work, which can be anything from squats to tumbling to nutrition discussions
  3. Workouts usually incorporate movements from skill work either from that day or a previous class. They are short, fun, and encourage children to focus on a task at hand
  4. Classes always end with a game that involves physical activity, coordination, and most importantly, fun!
